Stafford’s MP Speaks out for the UK

With only a few months left until Scotland votes in a referendum on independence, Stafford’s MP, Jeremy Lefroy, recently laid out why he believes that Scotland would be better staying within the United Kingdom. He made his comments during a debate in the Commons on Scotland’s place in the UK. 

Stafford MP Seeks Support For Local Energy Intensive Industries.

Jeremy Lefroy has quizzed the Energy Minister, Greg Barker, what the steps the Government can take to support energy intensive industries, such as steel and ceramics, and help them remaining competitive across Europe.Speaking in the House of Commons during Energy and Climate Change questions, the local MP asked:“What discussions is [the minister] having with energy-intensive industries such as ceramics and steel, which are key employers and exporters, to ensure that their prices are competitive with countries such as Germany and France?”

Stafford MP Calls For Reform To Help Disabled Children

Leading UK children's disability charity Newlife Foundation has welcomed support from MPs, including Jeremy Lefroy,  for its campaign to amend an outdated piece of "nonsensical legislation" which affects disabled teenagers throughout the UK.Earlier this month Cannock Chase MP Aidan Burley introduced a 10-minute Rule Motion, supported by Mr Lefroy, which highlighted the plight of disabled children who are currently denied access to the most appropriate wheelchairs due to existing weight and age restrictions.
