Sir, yesterday, MPs, peers and leaders of the medical research community met to discuss the benefits of science to society and our country’s health, and economy.

A total of 119 new homes were started in 2012 according to new figures published by the National House Building Council (NHBC). Nationally the number of new homes started fell by 16,000 to 92,313.
