Tackling unemployment is one of my main priorities. That is why I was so determined to see the establishment of Job Clubs in my constituency.
Stafford Works, of which I am a trustee of, set its first one up in September 2010 and has since held in excess of 60. More than 50 people have come regularly, 60% of whom are now in work.
Other Job Clubs are now being setup by other organisations and charities, something I am delighted to see.
A job club is a great way of nurturing self-esteem and hope, which are essential for helping people find work.
Held on a fortnightly basis at the Signpost Centre, Auden Way, Highfields, Stafford, ST17 9TX, 10am - 12noon (see map below). The team of volunteers are ready to help with CV writing, interview techniques and job applications.
If you would like further details about this job club or any other job clubs in my constituency and what they can do, please contact my constituency office and speak to James Nixon on 01785 252477 or staffordworksuk@gmail.com.
